Universitas is a newspaper for multiple student bodies in Oslo, and that includes international students. Inter Universitas, the English section, was founded in order to increase and improve both translated content and original English articles.
The editor of Inter is responsible for all English content. This is an excellent position for an international student with some journalism experience who also wants to be in a Norwegian work environment. The job consists of picking which articles should be translated, passing out original article assignments, editing and proofreading all articles, and posting them both on the website and Facebook page.
Requirements:
We’re looking for someone who has strong leadership qualities and excellent multitasking and organizational skills. You will be expected to expand the amount of original content in Inter, as well as reach out to the international student reader base we have yet to access. Creativity, initiative, and enthusiasm are essential.
Some journalism experience or relevant equivalent is required.
You must be fluent in English and speak some Norwegian.
Work hours and pay:
6 hours per week, 100 NOK/hour. The Inter editor is also expected to attend both the editors' meeting and all-staff meetings on Thursdays.
