Drug mule suspected for the murder of 43 students
The Mexican government suspects a drug mule for ordering the disappearance and murder of 43 teacher students
On September 26th last year, 43 teacher students from Iguala in the Mexican state of Guerrero disappeared. 28 badly mangled bodies were later found in a mass grave. Now Mexican police have detained a drug mule suspected by the country's government of being behind the mass murder, writes The Guardian.
The suspected perpetrator is thought to have confused the teacher students with a rival drug gang who were illegally on his territory.
The arrest, which is expected to be officially confirmed in a press conference on Thursday, comes at a time when the police have very little credibility among the Mexican citizens as a result of inadequate investigation into the case.
