1. Hva vil folk si (What will people say?)
An internationally acclaimed movie directed by Iram Haq has touched many hearts in Norway and worldwide. Although it was released in 2017, it has recently been added to NRK TV and is a must-watch. This coming-of-age tale sensitizes the realities of numerous immigrant youngsters growing up in a foreign land. The heart-touching movie revolves around a 16-year-old south-east Asian girl growing up in a strict family in Norway and her journey to cope with cultural clashes. Growing up in a strict family, Nisha is not allowed to do many of the things that she sees her Norwegian friends doing. When she tries to break the shackles of patriarchy and fight against all odds, she is sent to Pakistan, a place where she has never been, in order to learn about her culture and tradition. It is indeed a must-watch for anyone who feels they live in a world of culture clashes.
