ELECTION WEEK: Many group 'valgvake' (election-wake) events are happening in different corners of Oslo on 3rd of November.

First thing first, start your vitamin D supplements intake, winter blues in Norway is real! Nights are progressively lengthening, and days are shortening. It is now more than ever important to maintain our sanity. In that effort, we are happy to bring to you this weeks’ exciting events around Oslo.

The week is starting with global attention to witnessing the final election day of the USA. Many group 'valgvake' (election-wake) events are happening in different corners of Oslo on 3rd of November. Among them, two interesting ones are happening at Chateu Neuf and Youngs. You can watch the live stream at Chateau Neuf on a big screen with food trucks and drinks servings or join interesting discussions around the topic and a concert at Youngs. The choice is yours to make. Signup is compulsory for both events.

Turning the darkness into an opportunity, Artiest Sven Påhlsson is bringing you Floating, lights art display, at Vigeland Musuem from Nov 4th until 14th from 6 pm to 9 pm. The show is outdoors, and tickets are not required. Visit the magnificent projections with warm company, clothing, and drinks.

If you don’t feel like wandering out in pitch darkness, you can attend digital concert from the winner of Emory Remington Trombone Choir Competition, The NMH Trombone Class at 8 pm on 4th of November.

You can also enjoy this digital platform to prepare for competitive job market in Norway. The career center at UiO is regularly holding CV writing (on 3rd) and job application (on 5th) workshops/courses. In addition, a session about the view of HR department during recruitment process is happening at Oslo International Hub on 5th of November. This session can be attended both on person and digitally.

Similarly, there are three different events this week that are dedicated to hone your linguistic talent: digital language café to learn Norwegian on 3rd and 6th and a Language exchange and make friends meet to practice other languages on 5th at Yooungstorget.

On the weekends, you can visit Godthåb Bar&Café that is going to be transformed into a flea market on 7th at 12 pm and 8th at 7 pm with cool stuffs and interesting clothes, food, Arabic coffee, sweets etc. Buy a tote bag and bring more unique stuffs home.

Talking about market, ski sales is happing at Tryvann, near the winter park, on 7th and 8th. You can buy second hand and new skis and ski gears for different prices at the market. Looking forward to enjoying snowy winter is a healthy way of avoiding winter blues.
