Feel like something is missing for this October? Do not worry – you can still make it to Chateau Neuf’s very own Oktoberfest. Norwegians tend to socialize more under the influence, which makes this a perfect opportunity to meet Norwegians impersonating Germans!
If you need to get your hangover from Thursday’s beer-drinking to wear off, Ivan Ave is playing for a reasonable price at Rockefeller on Friday. This Norwegian hip-hop talent only has English tunes, and will be celebrating the release of his new album Every Eye. Not a concert to miss if you’d like to explore Norwegian music that is actually understandable!
Not into the whole hip-hop scene? Sigur Rós will be playing chill, instrumental music with some chores in islandic at Oslo Spectrum. The post-rock band from Reykjavik will be including the most popular songs from their seven albums, as well as new never-heard-before-material from the 8th album that they are currently working on.
If you would like a tasty Saturday there will be a pop-up with perfect hangover food: doughnuts. Fryd and Tøyen Startup Village will host their very last pop-up selling doughnuts with autumn flavors (blue cheese and gingerbread, salted caramel pecan and Norwegian apple fritter to mention some). The event begins at 15:00, and lasts until they sell their very last doughnut. Coffee and vegan options will be available!
Still not worn out? Birkelunden Marked is open this Sunday (as most Sundays all year round). You can find everything from jewelry and clothes to vinyl and furniture, and the best part? It is located in the heart of beautiful Grünerløkka, surrounded by cute cafes and restaurants.
At Vulkan, close to the market, you can also find Smelteverket, hosting a fun, relaxing quiz with topics ranging from sports to comics. Teams of five will compete against each other with the possibility of winning a prize or two! The quiz is both in English and Norwegian, so bring your friends and enjoy a night of good drinks and brain-teasers. Booking a table beforehand might be a good idea!
