Stars and fireworks with SaraLy

Like being a part of the music? Join a sing-along at SALT’s Arctic Main Stage with SaraLy and her band! If you’ve got kids, bring them. Or, just come as you are for this inclusive event, which lasts about 45 minutes. Buy a drink or a snack afterwards at one of SALT’s food and beverage vendors. Tickets are free, but registration is required.

PubChoir with the Oslo Choir

Add your voice to the choir! This choir starts from scratch every month with a new pop song to learn and sing together under the direction of Vetle Gjevestad Agledahl. No experience is required and the bar will be open if you get thirsty along the way. No registration is required either, but the place is sure to be packed, so make sure to get there early!

Storyteller Festival

Nordic Black Theatre.

If you’ve got some stories to share and are interested in hearing tales from others, check out this free Story Sharing Café, where participation in English is welcome! There’s also:
- a free improvisational music and story jam,
- a panel discussion in English on storytelling,
- and a storytelling session around the campfire to close out the weekend.

Magical fun with the Flying Seagulls

Want to burn off some seriously playful energy? Join the Flying Seagulls for an interactive performance that you help to create! All ages are welcome and tickets are free. Flying Seagulls Norway is a humanitarian organization that works to spread laughter, play and joy to children in crisis. For the past 15 years, the jugglers in Flying Seagulls have met over 400,000 children in 24 countries. Come ready to play!

Irish Dance

Up for a high energy dance adventure? Give Irish Riverdance a try – no partner or previous dance experience required. Wear comfortable clothes and bring indoor-only shoes that you can dance in (sneakers, jazz shoes, etc.). The first class is free, but note that the full class is a seven-week series (full tuition 900 NOK, should you decide to join). Pre-registration required.

Nerdy Science Cake Competition 2024

Is baking your secret superpower? Let the secret out with this fun cake competition! Pick a nerdy scientific concept you want to illustrate and use your creativity to make it come to life as a cake. Deliver your creation to the Science library on Pi Day (14 March), between 9 and 11. This is a juried competition with prizes and honors to be won!

Into History: Humanities Festival 2024

The University of Oslo is teaming up with Deichman libraries and other cultural institutions around town to offer this two-week festival celebrating history. Note that many of these events will be held in Norwegian, but non-Norwegian speakers might enjoy:
- The Afterlife of Natural History,
- This is how we speak Norwegian in 40 years (Beyond Barcode exhibit),
- or a Historic city walk through Jewish Oslo

You can also see a screening of the film Tantura or join an Album Listen of Prince’s Parade.
