The Olympics are now officially over, and you may find yourself feeling empty inside. Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of events for the weekend that is sure to help you cope with the void left by the Olympic Games.

If a good meal is all it takes to feel better, look no further than the Indian weekend at Vippa. Vippa is a food- and cultural center located right by the shore. From Friday to Sunday they’ll have many different Indian-themed events, and of course, Indian food! What’s not to love?

If you prefer to relax and spend a couple of hours watching a movie, go see Alfred Hitchcock’s «Shadow of a Doubt» in 16mm! The classic thriller is playing at the Oslo Filmrullklubb (film-roll club) on Friday.

If scares and suspense are not for you, check out Planet Earth II Live in Concert. On Friday, clips from David Attenborough’s critically acclaimed documentary series will be shown at Oslo Spektrum, with a soundtrack provided by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Maybe movies in general are not your thing, and you would prefer to go to a concert. In that case, give By:larm a shot. By:larm is an annual music festival with a diverse set of genres, intending to showcase up and coming Norwegian artists. It lasts from Thursday to Saturday, and with a lineup so varied you’ll be sure to find something of interest.

Otherwise, if nothing on the roster impresses you, and you prefer seeing bigger artists, then it’s worth knowing Kendrick Lamar is performing at Telenor Arena on Friday! The concert is part of his Damn. tour, coinciding with the release of his latest album.

Finally, if you’re the type who would like some intellectual stimulation, or if you just love Ireland, it’s worth checking out Irrgrønn: Ideer fra Irland (Chartreuse: Ideas from Ireland) at Litteraturhuset. The event will take place on Saturday, and consists of a group of Irish intellectuals discussing contemporary problems such as transhumanism and online extremism. The added benefit is that this will take place in English, in case you want to take a break from practicing your Norwegian skills.
