Budgeting Electricity

A five-fold increase in the cost of electricity is threatening to affect a number of building projects at the University, says University Director Tor Saglie. Whereas the University paid 15.5 øre prior to 1 January, the price has now risen to approximately 70 øre, resulting in a daily expenditure of 200,000 kroner. Luckily for all students renting student accommodation, SiO (The Student Association) has entered a fixed-price agreement for electricity. The nation-wide hike in electricity prices has therefore only led to a two per cent increase in the cost of student accommodation.
