Failing Students

Publisert

Ingrid Strandgård, who failed an exam in psychology at the end of last term, asked to have her papers re-marked. Although she filed her complaint in the middle of June, she did not receive the results until 17 September – two days after the final registration date for retaking the exam in question. Strandgård accuses the University management of hypocrisy. Students are expected to follow rules, regulations and time limits to the letter, she says, while the University does not observe self-imposed time limits. Kari Voll, of the Institute of Psychology, apologises for the delays, blaming a shortage of examiners and extra work in connection with the Institute\'s move in the course of the summer. She is well aware of the time limit of three weeks for replying to students\' complaints concerning their grades.
