The Internet–based learning tool Classfronter (CF) allows teachers and students to see the name and e–mail address of everybody on the same mailing list; in addition, teachers can check how often and when a student was last logged onto the system, which documents a student has accessed, and which debates students have participated in, as well as what they have written. As examiners may therefore in practice have viewed students\' draft papers for their assessment essays and exams, this means that students\' exam papers are no longer fully anonymous. For that very reason a number of students who are critical of the system \\are hesitant to give their names.

Professor of Law Dag Wiese Schartum says that the University\'s arguments for overriding students\' right to personal privacy is unconvincing.

As a result of a predominance of female applicants, the Norwegian Veterinary College (NVH) wishes to favour male applicants. The college has recently applied to the Ministry of Education to be allowed to introduce two additional points for male applicants. The college\'s rector, Lars Moe, argues that a predominantly female student mass is not conducive to a positive learning environment. Lars Christensen at the Equality Ombudsmann\'s Office is supportive of the initiative.
