Student Missing

After the police published its list of Norwegians missing in the Asian tsunami, one student of the University of Oslo, Anita Anabel Jarl (39), and her one–year old son Julian Ombir Jarl, continue missing.

The rector of the Physical Education College, Gunnar Breivik, says that several of the college’s Tamilcleaning staff have lost relatives.

Arthani Waordhany from Indonesia is a quota student studying at the University of Oslo, and has been deeply impressed by the sympathy and concern shown her after the disaster. As she is not from the badly affected Aceh region, she does not know any victims.

Student Parliament

Universitas has reviewed the Student Parliament’s attendance lists fromand including its statutory meeting in December 2003 to its last meeting in November 2004. More than 40 per cent of the Parliament’s members failed toappear at half the meetings Ulrik Motzfeldt of the Karl Johan list is highly critical of the members’ low attendance, and points ou that his list’s policy of attending all meetings has resulted in several politicalvictories.
