Lead-in and headline of the story of the «blank votes» published in Universitas last week, regarding student politicians from Karl Johans-lista and their alleged encouragement to vote blank in the upcoming Student Parliament Election, was based on a misinterpretation of Ulrik Motzfeldt`s statements. Motzfeldt had repeatedly stressed to our journalist that he, and Karl Johans-lista, were not encouraging students to vote blank. Possible accusations of such could originate from the fact that they had been positive towards an alteration of procedures meaning that blank votes should be counted rather than thrown away. That such an encouragement was printed is due to an error that occurred after the story was out of the journalist’s hands. Universitas apologizes for the error.
