Furious PostGrads
Postgraduate students are raging against the latest restriction to students\' access to photocopies and printouts, limiting them to 100 printouts per term. «That\'s not even enough for me to print out my thesis,» says master student Heidi Sund. Fellow history student Ingrid Næser says that postgraduate history students usually require about 2000 printouts per term, amounting to an additional cost of NOK 600, if the new rules are to be implemented. SvendErik Svendsen of the University\'s Financial and Planning Department suggests that students should read each other\'s theses and comment on them electronically, without making printouts.SAIH Meddles in Politics
All students at Norwegian universities pay NOK 20 towards the SAIH (The Students\' and Academics\' International Aid Fund) every term. The recent revelation that SAIH has spent NOK 10,000 on supporting the Tellhim campaign against George W. Bush and American foreign policy has caused a stir. Student politicians from several organizations are critical. Krister Braute, the leader of the Conservative students\' society, argues that the campaign runs counter to the organization\'s mission statement, which says that SAIH is to work towards international solidarity.
