More than a hundred students showed up at the rector\'s office on Tuesday demanding that the University take a stand against the war in Iraq. The spontaneous demonstration was organized by Fredsinitiativet Blindern, the Blindern Peace Initiative. Rector Arild Underdahl refused to take a public stand against the war, arguing that he needed to separate between his role as public representative and private citizen. He added that his private views are not far removed from the students\' stand. The Student Parliament, which voted to remain neutral to the impending war at its first annual meeting, changed its stand on Thursday, after the beginning of the war.

Whereas only forty–eight per cent of the population at large think that all forms of pornography should be legalised, sixty per cent of the student mass are in favour of this point of view. Only twenty–four per cent of students think that porn should be made illegal. Professor of psychology Per Schioldborg explains the numbers by pointing out that students in general are younger and more liberal than the rest of the population.
