Meteorologist Rafael Escobar Løvdahl [warned us on Monday](1) that snow was coming. «You might want to drop the white converse and your sneakers. Tomorrow they might risk having another color,» he said.

On Tuesday Oslo woke up to Løvdahl’s prediction. In the early hours of the morning, 4.6 cm of snow drifted over the capital.

But if we’re to believe the weather reports, it’s not going to stick. Tomorrow the temperatures will climb again, and the snow will melt into grey slush.

Our photographer ventured into the winter wonderland to capture it on film.

War: Two students had a snowball fight Tuesday afternoon. We cannot confirm who the winner was.
Alone: A snowed-in, lonely bicycle stood parked outside Georg Sverdrups.
Snow: It snowed heavily, covering absolutely everything.
Meta: A few passersby noticed what was probably the first snowman of the year, outside the main library. A woman stopped to take a photo.
Air: Three students walk through campus at sunset on Tuesday. On Frederikke Square Arnold Haukeland’s sculpture «Air» stood silhouetted.
